A screw pump is a type of positive displacement pump that uses one or more screws to move fluids or solids along the screw axis. It is commonly used for pumping viscous fluids, multiphase mixtures, or materials with solids.
Fluid enters the pump casing.
Rotating screws trap the fluid in the cavities between the screw threads and the casing.
As the screws rotate, the fluid is pushed along the axis of the screw toward the outlet.
The fluid flow is continuous, smooth, and typically non-pulsating.
